SUMMER READING CHALLENGE:
GRADES K-1: Read 10 books and complete a "Busy Bee."
First 15 students to reach the goal get a free paperback book.
GRADES 2-6: Meet your SUMMER ACCELERATED READER GOAL and enjoy a
Root Beer Float Party in August.

Home of Accelerated Reader Point Parties, Read-A-Thon, Scholastic Book Fairs, California Young Read Medal Program and Author Visits! Cottage Hill Library has over 9,600 titles and circulates 1,000 books weekly. Cottage Hill students visit the library each week for read alouds, library book check-out and library science. The librarian’s mission is to educate the students in best library practices and instill in them the love of reading. The library carries Newbery and Caldecott award winning titles, new titles and family classics and curriculum related non-fiction titles. Reference books are available for use in the library. There are five computers on site for the students to access Alexandria Researcher, Accelerated Reader* and bookmarked websites. The library is fully automated with a computerized card catalog. Parents and students are always welcome!
Library hours are 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Mondays: 7:30 AM until 2:00 PM.

*Accelerated Reader is a supplemental reading program supported by the teachers and the library. AR books are labeled with point value and reading level and a content test is available in the computer. Students earn points and then are invited to Three Point Parties Annually. The prizes are 100% funded by student council.
